My Little Star - Week 1

This week I spent approximately 6 hours on finishing this star. I'm not sure what the average amount of time it should take to do this much done but I feel like Im pretty slow. When I picked up the quilt this week, this star was about 1/4 done from the last time I worked on it in 2007! Then I goofed & stitched the wrong side over but left it (it had been a long day). Now I can't find the wrong stitching at all. It's probably nearly impossible to notice :P

Anyway here is my latest quilting update:

Sophia's Quilt

This blog is going to be particularly challenging to really get into as I haven't cross stitched in nearly a year, since I adopted my two kitties from the Humane Society. They are quite the little attention hogs, and make it nearly impossible for me to successfully stitch. Fortunately the reality of moving into a place that actually has a yard may come true sooner rather than later. Then, and only then, will I be able to truly enjoy the art of crafting once again. My most important project is my 8 month old neice's quilt. I'm not sure how fell in love with the idea of cross-stitching, but one day I went to the local Michael's and purchased a 2x4-ish foot quilt and decided to dive right into it. It was such a fun, relaxing & challenging pastime that I decided that once I finished Sophia's quilt, I would start production on a cross-stitching project for my 3 year old neice Emily. However...I stopped. Now, I will start once again. Amongst juggling my other things-on-the-go, I will add another one just to spice up the mix :)
Now here are some pics of my Quilt on the go.. The first pic is what the end result of the quilt should be:
And next, how far it has come along. As you can see there is quite a bit of stitching to be done:
